Terms of Service

Last updated: April 27, 2026

These are the terms for using Running Trees, a product of Clay Moon Creative LLC. They're written in plain English on purpose. By purchasing or using Running Trees, you agree to them.

What you're paying for

Running Trees is a one-time $4.99 purchase that gives you a private tree visualization of your Strava running activity, accessible at a unique URL. We'll do our best to keep your tree available and rendering for the foreseeable future, but we make no guarantee of perpetual service. Realistically, this is an indie product made by a small team. If we ever shut it down, we'll give you reasonable notice.

Refunds

If you can't get the product to work — e.g., your Strava connection fails, your tree won't render, or something is broken on our end — email us within 30 days of purchase and we'll refund you. No paperwork, no questions.

We don't refund "I changed my mind" purchases after you've successfully connected Strava and viewed your tree, since at that point the product has been delivered.

How you should use the service

You agree to:

Independence from Strava

Running Trees is an independent product. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Strava. We connect to Strava through their public API, and our use of their service is governed by Strava's API agreement. If Strava changes their terms or revokes our API access in a way that breaks the product, we will do our best to notify users and refund recent purchases where reasonable.

What we don't promise

Running Trees is provided "as is." We don't guarantee uptime, freedom from bugs, or that the service will meet any particular need. The visualization is artistic — it's a creative interpretation of your data, not a precise scientific instrument.

To the extent permitted by law, the total liability of Clay Moon Creative LLC to you for anything related to Running Trees is limited to the amount you paid us (i.e., $4.99).

Account termination

We can terminate your access if you abuse the service, attempt to harm other users, or use Running Trees in a way that violates Strava's terms. In practice, this is reserved for clear cases — we're not looking for excuses to kick people out.

Changes

We may update these terms over time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date and notify users where possible. Continued use after changes means you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Iowa, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts of Iowa.
